Espíritu Santo Island

CHOYA tours invites you to experience one of the most incredible and fun excursions in Baja California Sur, where you can snorkel and swim with sea lions in their natural habitat (depending on the seasson), observe thousands of multicolored fish, birds, coral reefs, rock formations and paradisiac beaches .

Espiritu Santo Island is the closest to the bay of La Paz, only 33 km away. La Partida, El Gallo, La Gallina and Los Islotes are part of this island that covers an approximate area of 100 Km2, it is one of the most beautiful of the Sea of Cortez, where its great contrasts of the reddish color of its stones, the turquoise blue of the sea and its beautiful sunsets, make an admirable stage.

The biodiversity of this island complex is impressive; 32 species of reptiles, 98 species of birds, 16 endemic species, and a colony of about 350 sea lions that can be observed around its shores are registered. Declared Protected Natural Area in 1978 and Biosphere Reserve in 1995, the region has more than a thousand plant and animal species; 64 of which are officially protected.

We will visit Ensenada Grande Beach, where we will get off the boat to relax on the seashore and enjoy a delicious lunch of fish ceviche with cookies and toast, ham sandwiches with cheese, water and soft drinks.
